New Items Arriving

This is just a quick update since a new box of amazing pieces just showed up. We’ll be getting them added to the webstore in the coming weeks and will have painted examples to show sometime after that. For now, here is a preview.

A while back I mentioned that we were working on some new bugs. The prototypes are in and they look amazing. Some small tweaks and they should be good to go into production. We should have these available in the shop this fall. What you see above is a Soldier Bug, Brain Bug, and a Super-Brain Bug plus some Egg Clusters. There will also be a worker coming which will serve well as a fantasy giant ant. Below are are some images that include a human for scale. These are large enough that a human could ride them. (Not that that is likely to be safe.)

We also just received the first of the open hand poses for the Fictioneers. There make great Standard Bearers, or easy figures to add any captured alien weapons. Some examples below… obviously with some moving of the arms and gluing the weapons in place, they will look a lot better. I was just in a rush to share these.

There will be more coming so that every faction has one. We’ll do a few at a time so let us know if you have a specific faction that you’d like and we’ll put it at the top of the list. If you equip yours with something super cool, be sure to share a photo of it on our Facebook group found here. The last image above is the Sitan Humanoid. With his arms both lowered, he is in a good position to haul a primitive cart such as one of our two new ones below.

I did most of the sculpting on these while at a medieval camping event. It might be difficult to tell in these photos, but the flat bed version has smaller diameter wheels. Both of these are intended to be powered by a human, but with a bit of adjustment/addition to the handles they could likely be put behind a horse or donkey easily enough. We’ll give one a go and post the results later.

If you are still with me, thanks for sticking with it… just a few more to go. We also took a stab at some tokens for F:L shown below. You might also find them useful for other games since they say Shaken, Pinned, or have an aiming sight or a pin point. The shaken/pinned are pretty obvious status markers. We use the aiming sight for those figures on over watch (i.e. waiting to take advantage of opportunity fire). The pin point is a handy way to mark where you intend for a mortar round to land so you can measure the drift direction and distance if you miss. Fun stuff when you end up hitting your own troops, right? Also below is the Planetary Legionnaire Recon trooper dismounted from their Jet Bike. As many of you know from experience that in F:L, your jet bike can get shot our from under you leaving you to walk, or you can get sniped and your jet bike can be captured by the enemy (or used by a fellow trooper that lost theirs). I’m really happy with how this came out. It took a far amount of carving of metal to make this happen.

These last two items don’t really go together but I’m trying to keep this short. We needed some additional heavy support weapons that were not cannons, so here is our Heavy Tripod mount. It is shown with the Heavy Gatling Gun barrel but we will be expanding the selecting for it in the future. It (in F:L game terms) breaks down and can be moved by 8 crew, but like any difficult to move piece, it is best if it can be set in a prime location and left to do its work. If the images below the tripod look like they are a campfire and sleeping bag, that’s because they are. These were made to go with the wild west figures but they would also go well with fantasy or anything where camping is involved. I was bummed to realized I left out the fallen logs and stump that go with this set. They will be snuck into a future mold. Maybe I’ll make a few variations of the bed roll so the camper can have some friends. And some unbridled/unsaddled horse too to complete the scene.

If you hung on all the way to the end, congratulations. You get to be one of the first people to see this preview, and request which we work on next. We just posted the first faction to be completed for the new Star Armor Supplement on the F:L page (shortcut here). We’ll be posting the rest as they finish. If you are in a rush for any in particular, feel free to let us know and we’ll direct our attention to them.

  1. I haven’t been able to purchase one of the starter sets, but I plan on getting the sitan apes and bugs box when I can get some extra cash. So maybe one of those? Whichever gives you the most creative freedom I say go with what inspires you first. Bugs look really cool btw.

    1. Thanks. The Sitan Apes and the Eeeks (the bugs in that starter boxed set), are already in the core rules, but I’ll add the new bugs to the priority list for the Star Armor supplement.
